Unlike real estate agents, home and mold inspectors can only represent one client; buyer, seller, tenant or owner.
Our client is the person who pays for the inspection and signs our contract.
Our written home or mold inspection report is the legal document that objectively identifies defects and related recommendations.
Non-clients need to understand that our written report, that may be supplied to them by our client is our final objective opinion. We do not provide free consultation time to non-clients to interpret or question our findings.
We often get requests from non-clients to provide further verbal interpretations regarding our written reports. These requests should be made through our client, or on a joint phone call with our client. This maintains the integrity of our written report. We also charge a consultation fee to non-clients.
If other inspectors or professionals have contrary findings to our report, we advise our clients to get those opinions in writing that identify the credentials and insurance carriers of the originators.
